The Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) is an alliance of governments, donors, private sector, research institutions, and on the ground implementing partners led by Africans with roots in farming communities across the continent. AGRA is committed to mobilize farmers to participate in FtMA and to help build the capacity of participating farmer organisations. In addition, AGRA partners with extension providers to ensure that farmers receive access to a comprehensive set of trainings and technologies.

Bayer is a global enterprise with core competencies in the Life Science fields of health care and agriculture. Its products and services are designed to benefit people and improve their quality of life. Bayer’s Crop Science division is one of the leading innovative agricultural input companies in the world and has businesses in high-value seeds, chemical and biological crop protection and non-agricultural pest control. Bayer is highly committed to FtMA and provides its knowledge and expertise, with a focus on innovative crop solutions to increase productivity. Bayer complements its contribution with agronomic advice on good agricultural practices and training support on plant protection and stewardship measure.

Rabobank Group is a cooperative bank with strong roots in agriculture and a leading bank in the Food and Agriculture sector. Rabobank is committed to promote development of agricultural sector in emerging markets, especially through finance, capacity building knowledge sharing and cooperative development. Rabobank took the responsibility of engaging with national level equity held banks, arranging pre-harvest and post-harvest financial solutions. In addition, Rabobank ensures partial risk coverage through the Rabobank Foundation and provides capacity building to farmer organisations and local banks through Rabo International Advisory Services (RIAS).

We are committed to rescuing land from degradation, enhancing biodiversity and revitalizing rural communities. Syngenta brings to FtMA farmers a variety of input solutions across seeds, seed care and crop protection including herbicides, fungicides and insecticides and post-harvest management. Syngenta also provides awareness trainings and capacity building of trainers, including learning modules on safe use of chemicals, and provides agronomists at ground level to ensure productivity gains are realized.

United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience. WFP’s deep field presence, vast experience in smallholder farmer engagement and public-private partnerships are used to roll out programmes that connect smallholder farmers to formal markets. WFP serves as the global and country-level lead on design, coordination and monitoring of FtMA operations by leveraging WFP’s supply chain expertise. WFP further acts as a catalytic buyer using WFP’s own purchasing power to incentivize other private buyers to participate and as an independent advocate building partnerships across farmers, the private and the public sector.


Yara International ASA is the leading provider of sustainable crop nutrition solutions, supporting farmer profitability through knowledge, quality and productivity. Yara has an extensive experience working with smallholder farmers across the globe and recognizes partnerships as an important part of the solution to unlock the agricultural value chains and help increase food production, particularly in Africa. Yara provides FtMA with sustainable crop nutrition solutions adapted to farmer needs and environmental challenges, supported by knowledge of crop nutrition, water and soil, driving optimal yield, quality and productivity for farmers.
