Climate change is impacting food systems around the world which is increasing food insecurity for vulnerable populations. All stakeholders that are active in agriculture are focused on reducing the negative impact of our actions on the environment and farming ecosystems. Even if we all face some consequences of climate change, smallholder farmers in Africa are facing the brunt of these impacts. On this Earth Day, FtMA acknowledges and accepts the mandate to increase knowledge and increase adoption of Climate Smart farming practices to support farmers in their efforts to mitigate shocks from climate change and build a healthier planet.
FtMA supported farmers have:
- planted 1.3 Million trees
- 24% are adopting CSA practices
- 56% of Farmer Service Centers have been trained on CSA practices
