In 2015, a consortium of public and private organizations with complementing business areas came together to work systematically together for a common goal: to make food crop markets work better for farmers by linking them to local and regional markets. Current members of the Farm to Market Alliance are Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), Bayer, Rabobank, Syngenta, UN World Food Programme and Yara. Through this partnership, FtMA has successfully engaged over 140,000 farmers in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Zambia and generated US$25 million in crop purchases by commercial buyers.
